With a strong commitment to Mission, PVUC events are regularly raising awareness of, and 

financial support for several non-church programs.

We have one of Canada's largest AMNESTY INTERNATIONAL groups.

Our Voluntary Associate Minister, Rev. Charles Catto, serves with FRONTIERS FOUNDATION,  which builds homes for off-Reserve aboriginal citizens. FRONTIERS also serves in Haiti.

Every Baptism Sunday we collect for the SLEEPING CHILDREN AROUND THE WORLD program.

Our 2008 Golf Day raised $13,500  for Durham area charities.

For many years, through the United Church's MISSION AND SERVICE FUND, we support a very

large number of sites and services across Canada and around the world. In 2007 our contribution exceeded $44,000, but we set our sights on even higher efforts.

With many others we work, speak and contribute financially to such international causes as

care for AIDS patients in Africa, disaster relief and peace.
